- Contractual Changes:
Processes changes to a current client’s contract once on-boarded
- Termination:
Ensures that the investment manager processes the last bill, sends the last report, and turns off systems related to the portfolio’s close
Best practice is to use the Exchange whenever there are “functional areas” (e.g., Legal, Compliance, Investment Management, Client Relationship, Operations and others) who “need to know” and “approve” the particular action being considered. A systematic approach has great utility:
- Ensures that the investment manager accepts business that the firm can actually handle
- Facilitates that downstream systems have correct data
- Monitors the process to ensure consistent execution
- Guides communication, action plans and approvals from among the members of the functional areas
- Focuses administrative tasks away from professionals charged with direct alpha creation; everyone does a great job at the job they are meant to do – all for the client benefit

This facilitates the efficient storing and retrieval of all important communication, documents, contracts and other material related to a particular client or case, in a central repository, for easy access through the system.
